Wesley United Methodist Church in Winona, Minn., is nurturing a new ministry launch with a focus on Community-Based Justice. A part-time director of this initiative was hired in April of 2021. Through listening to the needs of the wider community, and through the development of relationships that go beyond acceptance, into true belonging, Wesley seeks to foster trusting relationships with those in the Winona community facing justice inequity, including, but not limited to BIPOC (Black-Indigenous-People of Color) and LGBTQ youth and young adults. The goal of this ministry is community-based healing and the creation of beloved community.
